IPAF Operator
This course will cover all aspects of your IPAF powered access training, choosing any combination of 3A (mobile vertical), 3B (mobile boom) or 1B (static boom), the course will instruct a candidate to safely operate MEWPS.

3A
3B
A Category 1b static boom is a type of Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) fitted with an extendable boom. It is designed to operate from a fixed position and must be stabilised using outriggers, jacks, or other stabilising devices. If a potential IPAF operator were to take the 1B course, it would be these machines being taught.
A Category 3a MEWP is designed to raise and lower personnel and equipment vertically. This category includes equipment such as scissor lifts and vertical personnel lifts, which can be moved from one location to another. If a potential IPAF operator were to take the 3A course, it would be these machines being taught.
A Category 3b MEWP is a self-propelled mobile boom lift designed to raise personnel and equipment to elevated or difficult-to-reach positions. It features an extendable or articulating boom and can be driven and repositioned from the platform or ground controls. If a potential IPAF operator were to take the 3B course, it would be these machines being taught.

This course trains a demonstrator to familiarise operators with their responsibilities and to demonstrate pre-operational and safe operating procedures, and the limitations of MEWPs.
